A scientific conference on modern approaches to dental implantology was held at Tbilisi State University with the participation of Georgian and foreign scientists.
Dr. Robert Fromental, Laureate of the University of Dental Surgery of Lyon, presented the report “Paradigms in Dental Implantology – Bionic Concept” to the participants of the conference.
Maia Bitskinashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of TSU, experts, professors, and students attended the opening of the conference.
At the end of the conference, a presentation of the postgraduate education program in the field of dental implantology was held. According to Professor Vladimer (Mamuka) Margvelashvili, the head of the Department of Dentistry of the Faculty of Medicine of TSU, a new postgraduate program of continuous professional development in the field of dental implantology will be created at TSU, which will be accredited by the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
“The program is accredited at several leading universities in the world, and we would like to implement it in Georgia. This will be a postgraduate dental education project that will contribute to the professional development of our dentists,” said Mamuka Margvelashvili.
The program includes 14 modules with a substantial practical component. Lectures will be delivered by Georgian and foreign specialists to students enrolled in the course. Graduates of the program will receive internationally recognized diplomas in dental implantology.
